Frank Lelle (born February 4, 1965 in Hermersberg ) is a former German soccer player .
Player career
The defender and midfielder Lelle played for FK Pirmasens and SV Rodalben before he went to 1. FC Kaiserslautern in 1986 . On April 15, 1987 he was used for the first time in the Bundesliga . In a remarkable game that day, FCK lost to local rivals SV Waldhof Mannheim with 3: 4 goals. Mannheim had received four penalties, two of which were converted. In 1990 he won the cup and was just as involved in keeping the league in the same season as he was under coach Karl-Heinz Feldkamp , who was engaged during the season . A year later he became German champion with the FCK. He was successful in the championship season with three goals, but only came to 13 appearances due to injuries. In the following season he was in the now legendary, but tragic, because inadequate 3-1 win against FC Barcelona in the European Cup in the starting line-up. After seven years and a total of 85 league games for the Red Devils , he moved to FC 08 Homburg in the 2nd Bundesliga in 1993 , with which he was relegated to the Regionalliga West / Südwest in 1995 . During the 1995/96 season he went back to Kaiserslautern and played for the club's amateurs. He later played again for FK Pirmasens.

Manager and coach career
After the end of his career, Lelle was initially coach of the A-youth team at FK Pirmasens . From 1998 to 2000 he was the first team coach. Then he was assistant coach under Stefan Kuntz , first at Karlsruher SC 2000 to 2002, where he and Kuntz led the club from the Regionalliga to the 2nd Bundesliga , then at SV Waldhof Mannheim and LR Ahlen .
From July 1, 2008, Lelle was head of the FCK youth performance center. Before that he had worked as a scout for young players at the player consultancy firm Stars & Friends . While the coach of the second team of FCK, Alois Schwartz , was interim coach with the professionals (May to June 2009), Lelle coached the team and looked after it in the last six league games of the 2008/09 regional league season. At the beginning of 2013, he was replaced by Konrad Fünfstück as head of the youth training center and switched to the scouting area at FCK. At the end of June 2014 he left the club. He is currently working as a scout at Borussia Mönchengladbach .
