Deanna Nicole Nolan (born August 25, 1979 in Flint , Michigan , United States ) is a professional basketball player. She currently plays for UGMK Yekaterinburg in the Euroleague Women and the Russian Basketball Superleague . She last played in the Women's National Basketball Association in the 2009 season for the Detroit Shock team .

Career

college

Deanna Nolan played for the Lady Bulldogs, the University of Georgia women's basketball team, until 2001 . During her time in college, she won 86 of 98 games with the Lady Bulldogs.

Women's National Basketball Association

Nolan was selected sixth in the 2001 WNBA Draft by the Detroit Shock .

In the 2003 season she was able to win a WNBA championship for the first time with the Shock. In the 2006 season she made it to the finals with the Shock again, where she met the Sacramento Monarchs with the Shock . The Shock won the finals 3-2, which they owed mainly to Nolan, who had the best point and steal cut of all Shock players. Their achievements did not go unrewarded, as Nolan was named Finals MVP .
