Betty Lennox was drawn in sixth place in the 2000 WNBA Draft by the Minnesota Lynx . In her first season for the Lynx, she received the WNBA Rookie of the Year Award .
On June 13, 2002, she was transferred to the Miami Sol . After the Miami Sol were dissolved after the 2002 season , Lennox was selected in the Dispersal Draft by the Cleveland Rockers . However, like the Sol , the Rockers were disbanded after the 2003 season . Thus, before the 2004 season , a dispersal draft took place again. This time the Seattle Storm secured the rights for Lennox. In her first season for the Storm, she won her first championship. In the finals against the Connecticut Sun , she was awarded the WNBA Finals MVP Award .
In the 2008 season , the Atlanta Dream joined the WNBA. In the expansion draft , they decided, among other things, for Lennox, who thus played for the Atlanta Dream in the 2008 season.
