The Louisiana Tech University is a state university in Ruston in the US state of Louisiana . There are currently 11,710 students enrolled. The college is part of the University of Louisiana system . It is particularly known for its engineering and technical courses.
history
The College of Louisiana was founded in 1894 and renamed the Louisiana Polytechnic Institute in 1921. In 1970 university status was granted.
Sports
The Louisiana Tech sports teams are the Bulldogs or Lady Techsters . The university has been a member of Conference USA of NCAA Division I since 2013 .
