Southern University
The Southern University and A & M College (also Southern University called) is a state university in Baton Rouge in the US state of Louisiana . It is one of the most famous historically African-American universities in the United States. There are currently 10,364 students enrolled here. Southern University is the main campus of the Southern University System .
history
Southern University and A&M College was founded in New Orleans in 1880 . In 1890 it was converted to the so-called land grant school . Due to the lack of space, the college moved to its current location, then Scotlandville, in 1914. In 1947 the law faculty was founded. The Southern University System was created in 1974.
