Frank Mastiaux (* 1964 in Essen ) is a German manager .

Life

Mastiaux studied chemistry at the University of Bochum . In 1993 he received his doctorate from the University of Duisburg-Essen with a thesis on "Quantitative vibration spectroscopy of mineral oil products". He began his professional career at the oil and international energy company BP . From 2007 he built up the Renewable Energies department at the E.ON Group . From 2010, under Johannes Teyssen, as CEO, he pushed the internationalization of this group and coordinated its projects in emerging countries with strong economic growth .

On March 30, 2012, EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg ( the third largest German energy supplier after E.ON and RWE ) announced that Mastiaux would succeed the then CEO Hans-Peter Villis on October 1, 2012 . Villis' contract expired on September 30, 2012

Mastiaux is married, has three children and lives (2015) in Ettlingen.

Mastiaux was appointed as a member of the Management Board and its chairman for a period of five years with effect from October 1, 2012. The board consists of four members; further members are (as of March 2020) Colette Rückert-Hennen (Human Resources, Legal & Compliance, Auditing), Thomas Kusterer (Finance) and Dr. Hans-Josef Zimmer (technology). The management board of EnBW manages the business of the group under joint responsibility.
