Hans-Peter Villis

Hans-Peter Villis (born July 6, 1958 in Castrop-Rauxel ) is a German manager and chairman of the board of VfL Bochum . Before that, he was CEO of EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG from October 1, 2007 to September 30, 2012 .

Life

From 1987 to 1989 Villis was commercial director of the coking plant management, Bergbau AG Westphalia in Dortmund . He then worked at VEBA Kraftwerke Ruhr AG in Gelsenkirchen as a planning and controlling manager until 1992 . Villis moved to VEBA AG in 1992 and worked there as a project manager for East Germany until 1993. From 1993 to 1999 Hans-Peter Villis was managing director of Städtische Werke Magdeburg GmbH . Afterwards he was a member of the board of Gelsenwasser AG until 2002. From January 2003 to September 2003 Villis was managing director of Elektrizitätswerk Wesertal GmbH in Hameln . He then was CEO of E.ON Westfalen Weser AG in Paderborn until June 2006 . After that he was CFO and Deputy CEO of E.ON Nordic AB until September 2007 . On October 1, 2007, Hans-Peter Villis succeeded Utz Claassen as Chief Executive Officer of EnBW.

In August 2010 Villis positioned itself as one of 40 signatories of the Energy Policy Appeal , a lobbying initiative of the four large electricity companies to promote the extension of the service life of German nuclear power plants.

In December 2011, Villis announced his withdrawal. After his contract expired at the end of September 2012, he was no longer available. EnBW announced on March 30, 2012 that Frank Mastiaux would be his successor. Since leaving EnBW, Villis has worked as a consultant in the energy industry and sits on various councils, including at Solarwatt GmbH.

In the 2011 financial year, Villis received total remuneration of around 2.1 million euros - that's around 175,000 euros per month. In the previous year it was more than three million euros.

Villis had been a member of the supervisory board of the Bundesliga soccer club VfL Bochum since October 2010. In September 2012 he took over the chairmanship of the supervisory board at VfL Bochum. Since the commercial business operations were outsourced in August 2018, he has been the chairman of the presidium and chairman of the board of VfL Bochum 1848 Fußballgemeinschaft eV
