Frank Riedel

Frank Riedel (born April 19, 1968 in Rheda-Wiedenbrück ) is a German economist , author and university professor.

Life

He has been a professor at Bielefeld University since 2007 and director of the Institute for Mathematical Economic Research since 2009 . He is the author of the popular science book Die Schuld der Ökonomen and the textbook Mathematics for Economists (together with Philipp C. Wichardt). His specialties are financial mathematics and game theory .

Frank Riedel studied mathematics at the University of Freiburg, did his doctorate and then did his habilitation at the Humboldt University in Berlin . After stays in Berkeley and Stanford , he first came to Bonn as an associate professor and finally in 2007 as a professor at Bielefeld University. There he has headed the Institute for Mathematical Economic Research since 2009. In addition to two books, his publications also include numerous articles in specialist journals, primarily in financial mathematics and game theory.

In 2011, Frank Riedel was the first German to be elected to the appointment committee for professors at state universities in France, Concours d'agrégation .

Frank Riedel is married and has two children.
