Frank Sheed

Francis Joseph Sheed (born March 20, 1897 in Sydney , Australia , † November 20, 1981 in the USA ) was one of the most famous Catholic theologians in the English-speaking world in the 20th century .

Life

Frank Sheed, originally a lawyer, was an Australian of Irish descent. However, he became famous as a theologian, bestselling author, publisher, sensational speaker in London's Hyde Park and pioneer of the lay apostolate. Frank Sheed continues to enjoy great popularity in the English-speaking world and his books are considered classics there. So far, only the standard work Theology for Beginners is available in German.
