history

prehistory

Before the opening of the Frankenbad, the city's swimmers only had a temporary facility in the nearby Tauber , which served as a training facility for the swimming department of TSV Tauberbischofsheim, which was founded and disbanded several times. Since the late 1940s, swimmers had to make do with this makeshift swimming pool in the Tauber, but they were able to train so much there that they were already taking part in competitions when the Frankenbad opened.

Frankenbad

In 1951, the Frankenbad was completed as one of the most modern swimming pools in the wider area. As early as 1955, the Baden swimming championships were held on the 50-meter track at the Tauberbischofsheim outdoor pool.
