Franklin Ebdalin

Franklin M. Ebdalin (born June 8, 1943 in Mambajao , Camiguin ) is a Filipino lawyer and diplomat who, among other things, was Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs in the cabinet of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo for a few days in 2003 .

Life

After attending school, Ebdalin completed a law degree at the Ateneo de Manila University and graduated in 1967 for admission to the bar with an average grade of 84.8 as the tenth best in the country. He initially worked as a lawyer and joined the Department of Foreign Affairs in 1975 , serving as Assistant Secretary for Legal Affairs and, between 2000 and 2010, Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs for Administration . As such, he became Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs in the cabinet of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo after the death of Blas Ople on December 14, 2003 . On December 17, 2003, the President herself temporarily held office, before appointing Delia Domingo-Albert as the new Foreign Minister on December 22, 2003 , who was sworn in on December 23, 2003.

In June 2010, Ebdalin left the public service after 35 years and became a lawyer in the law firm MM Lazaro & Associate . In October 2011, he was also Franchisernehmer the fast-food chain Binalot Fiesta Foods Inc . He is also a member of the Aquila Legis of the Brotherhood of Students of the Law Faculty of the Ateneo de Manila University founded in 1949 and, along with other former top diplomats, lecturer at the De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde Philippine Model United Nations .
