Frankly Jazz
Frankly Jazz was the title of a television series that presented jazz music and was broadcast in the Los Angeles area in 1962/63.
The half-hour television series Frankly Jazz was broadcast from 1962 to 1963 by the station KTLA in the Los Angeles area; it emerged from the daily radio program of the same name on the station KRHM-FM. Gary Markas was the director of a total of eleven episodes of the show hosted by radio DJ Frank Evans; the two were also the producers of the television series. Another employee ( Talent Coordinator ) was Richard Bock . Musicians like Curtis Amy / Dupree Bolton (" Summertime "), Paul Horn (" On Green Dolphin Street "), The Jazz Crusaders , Irene Kral ("Forgetful"),Shelly Manne (" Straight No Chaser "), Mary Ann McCall (" After You've Gone "), Terry Morel , Joe Pass ("Sonny Moon for Two"), Lou Rawls (" Willow Weep for Me "), Howard Rumseys Lighthouse All-Stars , Gary Peacock , Shorty Rogers (“I'm Gonna Go Fishing”), Bud Shank & Clare Fischer (“ Misty ”), Gerald Wilson (“ Milestones ”) and Jimmy Witherspoon (“It's a low-down Dirty Shame ”) appeared in Frankly Jazz .
