Frans Burman (also: Franz Burmann ; born October 3, 1708 in Amsterdam , † April 10, 1793 in Utrecht ) was a Dutch Reformed theologian.

He was a son of the theologian Frans Burman (1671-1719) and his wife Elizabeth Thierens. On September 18, 1720 he had enrolled at the University of Leiden . After an extensive study of theological sciences, he became pastor in Katwijk in 1732 , pastor in Nijmegen in 1736 and pastor in Utrecht on January 20, 1743. On July 22, 1743 he was appointed professor of theology by the curators of the Utrecht University, which office he assumed on September 23, 1743 with the speech de theologi docentis officio . On May 6, 1771, he moved to the chair of church history. He also took part in the organizational tasks of the University of Utrecht and was rector of the Alma Mater in 1746/47, 1766/67 and 1782/83 .

Burman married Anna Geertruid van Leeuwen († 1802) on September 15, 1737 in Nijmegen.
