Frans van Mieris the Younger
Frans van Mieris the Younger (born November 24, 1689 in Leiden , † October 22, 1763 in Leiden ) was a Dutch genre and portrait painter and etcher . He was apprenticed to his father Willem van Mieris , a son of the famous Frans van Mieris the Elder . Like his father and grandfather, he consistently continued the tradition of the Leiden fine painting founded by Gerard Dou .
