František Kopač (born February 6, 1951 in Úvaly ) is a former Czech football player and current football coach .

Player career

Kopač played only in the lower class for the clubs Dukla Tábor, Dukla Prague B , Dukla Slaný, Spartak Vlašim and Meteor Prague .

Coaching career

Kopač began his coaching career with the B team of Meteor 8. From 1982 to 1990 he was a coach in the junior division of Sparta Prague and at times also coach of the B team. From 1990 to 1993 he coached the then second division team Spartak BSS Brandýs nad Labem . The next three seasons he was assistant to Viktoria Žižkov , in March 1995 he was promoted to head coach. He stayed there in the 1995/96 season, in which he reached tenth place with the team.

Then Kopač returned to Sparta Prague, where he again coached youth teams. From 2000 to 2003 he was assistant coach at Marila Příbram , in November 2003 he took over the post of head coach of the dismissed Jozef Chovanec . After a little over a year, the team was on a relegation zone, he had to make way for Pavel Tobíaš .

In the second half of the 2004/05 season he took over the FK Viktoria Žižkov in the 2nd division , missed the goal of recovery with the first division relegation, also due to a deduction of twelve points as a result of the corruption scandal. In September 2006 Kopač returned as an assistant coach to Příbram , in July 2007 he became assistant to Robert Žák at FK Siad Most .
