The French Film Festival is a year since 1983 in Tübingen take-find film festival . There has been a branch in Stuttgart since the 1990s . The sponsor is the Tübinger Filmtage Association, and the state of Baden-Württemberg and the city of Tübingen are largely responsible for the financing .

The festival is mainly dedicated to films from France and French-speaking regions ( Québec , West Africa , Maghreb ) and is the largest of its kind in Germany. It awards an audience award for the best young film and a distribution promotion award endowed with 20,000 euros, which is donated by the media and film company Baden-Württemberg and the French export association Unifrance . Christopher Buchholz has been the festival director since 2010 .
