from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Franz-Josef Gresch (* December 5, 1925 - December 18, 2016 ) was one of the founders of the German Ju-Jutsu . As the bearer of the 10th Dan , he was the highest graduated Ju-Jutsuka in Germany.

Life

In 1969, Franz-Josef Gresch took over the management of the development of a new self-defense system called Ju-Jutsu on behalf of the German Dan College . Together with Werner Heim , Otto Brief, Richard Unterburger and Klaus Münstermann, among others , they developed Ju-Jutsu from various Asian martial arts such as the direct precursor Jiu-Jitsu , Karate , Aikido and Judo . He is therefore considered the "father" of Ju-Jutsu and incorporated the sport into the German Judo Association (DJB). He was also a co-founder of the German Ju-Jutsu Association after its separation from the DJB in 1990. He was therefore appointed honorary president.

On his 87th birthday in 2012, Franz-Josef Gresch was awarded the 10th Dan.
