Franz Aigner (born January 24, 1892 - January 21, 1970 ) was an Austrian weightlifter . He won the silver medal in the heavyweight pentathlon at the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris .

Career

Franz Aigner grew up in Vienna and started lifting weights as a young man. But his career did not begin until after the end of the First World War. At that time he was already 27 years old and started for the German strength sports club "Eiche" Vienna . He later moved to the wage-workers Athlete Club Vienna .

As early as 1919 he was Austrian runner-up in the heavyweight division behind Heinrich Alscher from Vienna. In 1920 he was the first Austrian heavyweight champion.
