Franz Bacher (born May 2, 1954 in Saalfelden ) is a former Austrian national soccer player .

Career

Franz Bacher was a defender with a good header game who also had offensive qualities. He began his football career at 1. Saalfeldner SK , from which he found his way to the national league team SV Austria Salzburg . In the 1972/73 season he made his debut for the violets in the top Austrian division, and by the end of his professional career, Franz Bacher was to wear the Austria dress in the league a total of 311 times. With Salzburg Austria, Franz Bacher usually placed in the middle of the table, only in the 1977/78 season he had to compete in the 2nd division after relegation .
