Franz Berl

Franz Berl (born June 9, 1926 in Laxenburg ; † April 20, 1990 there ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer. From 1974 to 1975 he was a member of the National Council and from 1975 to 1983 a member of the Federal Council .

After elementary school, Berl attended a secondary school. He then studied at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna and completed his studies as an agricultural engineer with the academic degree Dipl.-Ing. from. Berl worked as a farmer and took over the family business.

From 1960 onwards, Berl became politically active as the chairman of the local farmers' council and between 1965 and 1985 he was deputy chairman of the Mödling district chamber of farmers. He was also a member of the board of the Raiffeisenkasse Guntramsdorf and represented the ÖVP between May 30, 1973 and July 11, 1974 in the state parliament of Lower Austria . He was also a member of the National Council between July 9, 1974 and November 4, 1975, and was then a member of the Federal Council from November 13, 1975 to November 3, 1983. In addition, Berl was a local councilor in Laxenburg between 1965 and 1970 and from 1980 to 1985.
