Franz Bertram (politician, 1805)

Franz Bertram (born February 8, 1805 in Hachenburg , † August 17, 1863 in Wiesbaden ) was a businessman and politician in the Duchy of Nassau .

Life

Bertram was born as the son of the wine merchant and member of the Nassau state parliament Peter Jacob Franz Bertram (1779–1857) and his wife Dorothea, née Rösgen (1780–1848). Philipp Bertram was his brother. He first grew up in Hachenburg , but came to Wiesbaden as a child. There he married, who was of a Catholic denomination, on February 21, 1830, Katharina Margarethe, born Kalb (born June 17, 1809 in Wiesbaden; † September 7, 1854 ibid), the daughter of the Wiesbaden councilor and businessman Conrad Kalb. He was an innkeeper, merchant and wine merchant in Wiesbaden.

From 1846 to 1848 he was a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Estates of the Duchy of Nassau , elected for the group of traders. During the March Revolution he was a member of the Frankfurt pre-parliament . In 1848 he was one of the founding members of the "Association for Freedom, Law and Order". In the same year he became a member of the Wiesbaden city council. From 1848 to 1851 he was a member of the Nassau Estates Assembly for constituency XII (Wiesbaden / Hochheim). In the state parliament he joined the "Club of the Right". Between 1849 and 1854 he was a member of the advisory board of the Landesbank management.
