Franz Czeminski

Franz Czeminski (born February 11, 1876 in Schneidemühl , † February 1945 in Neumark ) was a German politician ( SPD ) and cooperative organizer .

Life

Franz Czeminski became a member of the SPD as early as 1894. In 1919 he was first elected for this party in the Schöneberg city ​​parliament. In 1921 he became chairman of the supervisory board of the Lindenhof settlement cooperative founded by Martin Wagner and Heinrich Lassen . From 1928 to 1933 he was a full-time city councilor and city councilor in Berlin.

On April 13, 1933, Czeminski was arrested in order to enforce the co-ordination of the cooperative he led. He was tortured and severely ill-treated in the “wild” SA prison in Papestrasse .

Honors

The Czeminskistraße in Berlin-Schöneberg is named after him.
