Franz Czeminski
Franz Czeminski (born February 11, 1876 in Schneidemühl , † February 1945 in Neumark ) was a German politician ( SPD ) and cooperative organizer .
Life
Franz Czeminski became a member of the SPD as early as 1894. In 1919 he was first elected for this party in the Schöneberg city parliament. In 1921 he became chairman of the supervisory board of the Lindenhof settlement cooperative founded by Martin Wagner and Heinrich Lassen . From 1928 to 1933 he was a full-time city councilor and city councilor in Berlin.
On April 13, 1933, Czeminski was arrested in order to enforce the co-ordination of the cooperative he led. He was tortured and severely ill-treated in the “wild” SA prison in Papestrasse .
Honors
The Czeminskistraße in Berlin-Schöneberg is named after him.
