Franz Dietrich

Franz Eduard Christoph Dietrich (born July 2, 1810 in Strauch near Grossenhain , † January 27, 1883 ibid) was a German orientalist and Protestant theologian .

Franz Dietrich studied from 1829 to 1832 in Leipzig and Halle, was appointed repetent in Marburg in 1836 , private lecturer there in 1839 , extraordinary professor in 1844, full professor in 1848 in the philosophical faculty and in 1859 transferred to theological faculty in the same capacity.

He was an honorary member of the Academic Association for Students of Modern Philology in Marburg , today's Marburg Burschenschaft Rheinfranken .
