Franz Georg Ettle

Franz Georg Ettle (born January 24, 1847 in Biberach an der Riss ; † April 28, 1907 in Vienna ) was a German sculptor .

Life

From 1873, Franz Georg Ettle taught the drawing subject for carving in Interlaken , Switzerland . From 1876 to 1881 he worked as a sculptor in Bern and exhibited his works there several times. Ettle then moved to Vienna, where he created the two Uchatius busts , which are now in the collections of the Vienna Museum of Military History . Ettle subsequently participated in exhibitions of the Austrian Art Association , for example in 1885 he showed the bust of Alexander Girardi and in 1886 a bust of Archduke Wilhelm , which was cast in bronze in the officers' shooting range at Steinfeld near Wiener Neustadt . The bust of a Baroness Gömery and a relief were also exhibited at this time. According to the documents in the Vienna City and State Archives , Ettle was living at Greiseneckergasse 10 in Brigittenau (20th district of Vienna ) at that time . From November 5, 1906 until his death on April 28, 1907, Ettle was registered in the Lainz care home in Vienna.
