Franz Hodjak

Franz Hodjak (born September 27, 1944 in Hermannstadt (Romanian: Sibiu), Romania ) is a German writer .

life and work

Franz Hodjak studied German and Romance languages ​​in Klausenburg , where he was editor at Dacia Verlag from 1970 to 1992. In 1982 he received a scholarship as city clerk of Mannheim, in 2002 he became city clerk of Dresden. Franz Hodjak moved to Germany in 1992 and was a lecturer at the Frankfurt Poetics Lecture in 1993. He has received numerous scholarships, most recently in 2006 from the Hessian Ministry of Science and Art and in 2007 a scholarship in the Herrenhaus Edenkoben.

Hodjak writes poetry and prose and translates from Romanian. Between 1970 and 1989 he published 20 books, including prose, poetry and children's books. Hodjak's poems have been translated into Romanian and Hungarian.

Franz Hodjak lives in Usingen in the Taunus .
