Franz Holzapfel
Franz Holzapfel (born November 10, 1870 in Calw , † August 7, 1954 in Dresden ) was a German politician ( SPD ).
After attending primary school, Holzapfel learned the typesetting trade . He worked in this profession until 1914. Most recently, he was employed as a proofreader . In 1907 he married.
Around 1890 Holzapfel joined the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). He was also a union member. Between 1897 and 1899 he was a member of the board of the branch of the book printers' association in Dresden. From 1900 to 1906 he was a member of the board of the SPD local association Dresden-Altstadt. From 1906 to 1909 he was its chairman. From 1914 Holzapfel worked as an editor for the people's newspaper.
On September 30, 1919, Holzapfel moved into the Weimar National Assembly as a replacement for the resigned MP Magnus Haack , in which he represented constituency 28 (Saxony 1-9) until the first Reichstag of the Weimar Republic met in June 1920. Another candidacy was unsuccessful.
After the end of the Second World War, he was active in control commissions of the SPD and in the residential district group in Dresden.
