Franz II. Joseph of Lorraine
Franz Anton Joseph von Lothringen (* December 8, 1689 in Innsbruck , † July 25, 1715 in Lunéville ) was the son of Duke Charles V of Lorraine and his wife Eleonore Maria Josepha of Austria and as Franz II Joseph Prince Abbot of the imperial monasteries and Stablo Malmedy . His brother Karl Joseph von Lothringen (1680–1715) was bishop of Olmütz and Osnabrück as well as archbishop and elector of Trier .
Life
On November 4, 1704, after the resignation of Canon Alex Anton von Nassau , Franz Anton Joseph came into the possession of a Liège cathedral priest . In Cologne he was canon from 1701 until his death in 1715. In Münster he was canon in 1715. In 1704 Franz Joseph became abbot of the Stablo and Malmedy monasteries . Since his brother Karl Joseph could not be bishop in three monasteries and Franz Joseph could not be installed as coadjutor in Olomouc in time , the Diocese of Olomouc was lost to the House of Lorraine in 1711.
