Franz Johann Kwizda, Edler von Hochstern (born April 2, 1827 in Leitomischl , Bohemia, † June 17, 1888 in Korneuburg ) was an Austrian pharmacist and founder of the pharmaceutical company Kwizda .

Life

The Johann Kwizda company was founded in 1853 by Franz Johann Kwizda, who in that year bought the district pharmacy in Korneuburg and already at that time began producing Kwizda'schen Korneuburg cattle nutrient powder, which soon became a very popular commercial item. A few years later he brought the well-known royal private restitution fluid into circulation, which was used as a rubbing in to strengthen before and after great exertion, stiffness of the tendons, etc. and which was awarded several medals at international exhibitions.

The company also acquired a great reputation for its veterinary products , which received special recognition at the anniversary exhibition held in Vienna in 1898 . Franz Johann Kwizda was honored in recognition of his many services, which he also acquired through his charitable work, by being awarded the Franz Joseph Order and in 1877 with the appointment of royal court supplier for veterinary products . In 1885 he was raised to the nobility with the title Edler von Hochstern .

Franz Johann Kwizda Edler von Hochstern managed his well-established, well-known business for 35 years, trying again and again to bring the latest items onto the market, which were recognized in professional circles. He died in 1888 and his third son, Julius Kwizda Edler von Hochstern , succeeded him as the owner of the company .
