Franz Josef Talbot
Franz Josef Talbot (* 1955 in Hillesheim ) is a German preservationist , art historian and architect. From 1990 to 2016 he was the city curator of Bonn .
Life
Talbot comes from Lissendorf in the Eifel . After studying architecture or training to become a Dipl.-Ing. At the University of Applied Sciences in Koblenz he initially worked in an architecture office. This was followed by studying art history and archeology at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau . From 1984 Talbot worked for the Cologne District Government in the area of monument preservation. In 1989 he received his doctorate in Freiburg and in the following year he moved to Bonn as city curator, head of the Lower Monument Authority . Talbot also held teaching positions at the University of Bonn and the Technical University of Cologne . From 2012 to 2016 he was chairman of the working group on municipal monument preservation in the German Association of Cities . On December 1, 2016, he retired as city curator.
Talbot is married, has a daughter and lives in Cologne .
