Franz Krautzberger (born July 23, 1913 in Karlsbad ; † September 23, 1942 ) was a Sudeten German politician ( NSDAP ).

Live and act

After attending elementary school and secondary school in Karlsbad, Krautzberger studied political science in Prague and Vienna . He developed his first political activities in the Sudeten German Turner movement. 1936 doctorate Krautzberger at Othmar Spann in Vienna Dr. rer. pole. to then be appointed as a trainer at the gymnastics school Asch .

On May 8, 1938, Krautzberger led the implementation of the association of Sudeten German youth in the Sudeten German People's Youth. After the annexation of the Sudeten areas by the German Reich , he was entrusted with the leadership of the Hitler Youth in the Sudetenland in October 1938 .

After the supplementary election to the Reichstag on December 4, 1938, Krautzberger became a member of the National Socialist Reichstag .

A few months after the incorporation of the Sudeten areas into the German Reich , Krautzberger was targeted by the SS , who distrusted him due to his former adherence to the teachings of Othmar Spann and the policy of the autonomy of the Sudeten Germans without entry into the German Reich, which was still in place in September 1938 . The leader of the Sudeten Germans Konrad Heiden was initially able to assert himself against Reinhard Heydrich's demands for Krautzberger's removal and persuade the Hitler Youth leader Baldur von Schirach to keep Krautzberger as leader of the Hitler Youth in the Sudeten area. In February 1939 the SS finally succeeded in replacing Krautzberger as Hitler Youth leader in the Sudetengau with the Reich German Günther Prager . Instead, he became the personal assistant to the Gauleiter of the Sudeten region, Konrad Henlein .

Krautzberger did military service from the beginning of February 1940 and, according to Michael Buddrus, died on September 23, 1942.
