Franz Kroller

Franz Kroller (born July 7, 1923 in Traiskirchen , Lower Austria ; † November 16, 2000 ) was director of the Graz University Library .

Life

Kroller studied Jus at the University of Graz and received his doctorate in 1949. In the same year he moved from the Law and Political Science Faculty Library, where he worked since 1947, to the University Library, its director until his retirement in 1988 he was the 1,972th

From 1976 to 1982 he was President of the Association of Austrian Librarians , from 1977 to 1981 Chairman of the Section for Library Building and Equipment of IFLA and from 1983 to 1988 President of the Association of European Scientific Libraries (LIBER). Kroller wrote numerous publications on legal and structural aspects of the library system.
