Live and act

Lidtmann was the son of the painter Johann Ignatius (Ignaz) Lidman, who worked in Pleystein, among other things, in the parish church of St. Sigismund. The mother's name was Rosina and they lived in Nabburg. The couple had two sons, Johann Michael and Johann Franz. The latter worked as a fresco and barrel painter in the central and northern Upper Palatinate until 1797 . In 1744 he created the version for the pulpit made by Johann Michael Doser in the parish church of Our Lady in Thumsenreuth. In 1749 he painted an altar in the Nabburg parish church of Sankt Johannes Baptist and from 1752 to 1759 he applied paint to the rear altars of Sankt Jakob Ensdorf. The ceiling and choir arch frescos in the church of St. Peter and Paul in Perschen date from 1753, the wall, ceiling paintings and altar leaves in the church of St. Martin in Niedermurach are from 1762. In 1769 he made two altarpieces and figures of saints in the Church of Saint Martin in Oberpfreimd. In 1778 he created the tabernacle in Sankt Andreas in Altendorf and a Way of the Cross in Sankt Joseph in Unteraich. In the parish church of St. Vitus in Neunaigen, he created six stucco frames on the north and south walls of the nave between 1788 and 1790. The ceiling painting, which shows the life of the patron saint and helper in need, is also by Lidtmann.

He signed his works with: IFLidmann. Pictor et Inventor from Nabburg .
