Franz Lustig

Franz Lustig (born October 7, 1967 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German cameraman .

Life

Franz Lustig studied at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy in Ludwigsburg . In 1996 he graduated from school. Since 1994 he has been working as a cameraman mainly in the advertising industry. After short films and documentaries, Wim Wenders hired him as cameraman for his two American films Land of Plenty 2004 and Don't Come Knocking 2005, as well as for Palermo Shooting from 2008.

For Don't Come Knocking he was awarded the European Film Prize for “European Cinematographer 2005”. His music video Voodoo in my Blood by Massive Attack was awarded the Golden Frog for Best Musicvideo at the Polish film festival Camerimage in 2017 .

Franz Lustig is a member of the German Film Academy and the European Film Academy . He is married to film editor Elena Bromund . The couple live in Berlin and Los Angeles.
