reception

Age rating

In Germany the film is FSK 12 . The statement of reasons for the release states: “Occasionally there are acts of violence , but these are cautiously staged. Even more emotionally intense scenes (e.g. when refugees are shot) can be put into the context of the story by viewers aged 12 and over and processed appropriately. "

Reviews

Overall, the film received a rather negative response from the critics.

Patrick Seyboth of epd Film writes that the adaptation of the novel The Aftermath by Rhidian Brook , which could have become a complex drama about the legacy of Nazi terror and war, about winners and losers, hatred and guilt and the inherent laws of passion, has unfortunately largely failed : "The script gets tangled up in the multitude of motifs and is not only unbelievable in many historical details, but also carelessly builds in a subplot about the attacks by the werewolves , the last Nazi fighter in the underground." The direction of James Kent can only do it seldom breathe life into the scenes, especially since Keira Knightley and Alexander Skarsgård simply don’t want to skip a spark, and so the film, which is always strangely sketchy, only finds a dramatic flow or too emotional depth in a very few moments, Seyboth continues.

Peter Osteried from Arbeitsgemeinschaft Kino writes that the most ungrateful role is played by Alexander Skarsgård, whose Stefan Lubert seems to be a decent man, but one doesn't learn much about him, and Lubert remains too aloof: “You should have learned more about him, maybe too Negative to increase the dramatic potential. "

synchronization

The German dubbing was created after the dialogue direction by Clemens Frohmann and a dialogue script by Klaus Bickert on behalf of FFS Film- und Fernseh-Synchron GmbH, Berlin.
