Franz Nauber

Franz Nauber (born January 9, 1911 in Kranichfeld , † August 27, 2001 in Munich ) was a German horn player .

biography

Franz Nauber's father was a master basket maker and farmer in the basket-making town of Kranichfeld . He received his training as a horn player from September 1928 to Easter 1934 at the State University of Music Weimar , where Georg Seidel was his teacher.

After completing his studies, he received his first seasonal employment in spa orchestras in Bad Elster and Bad Steben . In September 1936 Franz Nauber was hired as first horn player at the Landeskapelle Meiningen (after the Second World War "Orchestra of the Meininger Theater "). Interrupted by his conscription to the Wehrmacht in 1940 , Franz Nauber, who was awarded the title of chamber musician in 1964 , was a member of this orchestra until December 1976.

Nauber passed on his knowledge of playing the horn in class. Peter Damm is his most famous student.

Franz Nauber (1876–1954) is the uncle of Franz Nauber. He also studied in Weimar and worked in Cologne.
