Franz Röhr (politician)

Franz Röhr (born July 10, 1920 in Handarpe , Melle district ; † 2002 ) was a German politician ( CDU ) and member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

After attending primary school, Franz Röhr graduated from an agricultural college in Melle from 1937 to 1939 . In World War II he served in 1940 as a soldier. He was taken prisoner by the Soviets , from which he was released in December 1946. In October 1948 he joined the CDU and was chairman of the Junge Union in the Osnabrück district from 1948 to 1953 . He was a member of the board of the Lower Saxony district assembly and took over the chairmanship of the supervisory board of two milk processing companies in Osnabrück. In 1948 he was elected to the council of the municipality in Handarpe. He became a council member in the joint community of Wellingholzhausen , later also mayor there (1954) and general director, and after a community reform in January 1970 also mayor of the community of Wellingholzhausen. He had been a member of the district council since 1956 and from 1961 also a district administrator in the district of Melle. From June 6, 1967 to June 20, 1974 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament (6th and 7th electoral terms).
