Franz Rinsche (born  January 11, 1885 in Scharfenberg (now Brilon), †  September 1, 1948 in Münster ) was a dialect writer .

Rinsche was the oldest of ten children. After attending primary school in Scharfenberg, he worked as a toddler for two years. After visiting the preparatory institute in Rüthen , he was trained as a teacher at the teachers' seminar there. In 1917 he was appointed to the state high school Paulinum in Münster and worked there as a high school teacher until his retirement in 1945. 1919 received his doctorate with a dissertation on the topic "The current situation of civic education with special consideration of the elementary school" for Dr. phil.

Franz Rinsche received the Hinrich Fehrs Prize in 1940 for the main work Sunnenland , which was only published after his death in 1955 . The prize was given to him because of the good Low German language in the Sauerland dialect and the recorded cultural image. In addition to his main work, Rinsche published other writings in the Sauerland dialect, which is why the community of Scharfenberg honored him in various memorial services. On the highest point in Scharfenberg, the Sonder, a memorial stone was erected for the local poet Franz Rinsche in 1964.
