Franz Roos

Franz Roos (born January 27, 1917 in Bruchhof ; † February 1983 ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

After attending primary school, Roos completed an apprenticeship as a lathe operator at Klein, Schanzlin & Becker AG (KSB) in Homburg , where he subsequently worked. He did military service from 1938 and then took part in the Second World War as a soldier until 1945 . After the end of the war he worked again as a lathe operator at KSB, where he became a work planner.

Roos had been a member of the Saarland Social Democratic Party (SPS) since 1946 and participated in the founding of the German Social Democratic Party (DSP) in Vogelbach, Palatinate in 1952, which was not permitted in Saarland . After the DSP had merged with the SPS in 1956 to form the regional association SPD Saar , he was elected chairman of the SPD district association Homburg.

In the state elections in June 1965 , Roos was elected as a member of the Saarland state parliament in the Neunkirchen constituency, to which he was a member until 1970.

Honors

Roos was awarded the Saarland Order of Merit on April 25, 1977 .
