Franz Samuel Wild

Franz Samuel Wild (born September 7, 1743 in Bern , † April 26, 1802 in Pully ) was a Swiss geologist and mineralogist .

Wild was in the service of Sardinia from 1765 to 1770 . From 1770 to 1771 he was a sub- librarian in Bern. From 1771 he worked as a salt cashier for the Aigle governorate and from 1779 for Le Bévieux . In 1784 he became chief mining engineer and in 1789 chief miner of the Bern salt pans . In 1784 the Küttigen iron mine was placed under his supervision.
