Oskar Weber (architect)

Oskar Weber (born December 15, 1861 , † June 26, 1930 in Spiez ) was a Swiss architect and civil servant . He was the son of the music teacher Johann Rudolf Weber and the brother of the composer Gustav Weber .

Weber attended high school in Bern and from 1876 to 1879 the industrial school in Zurich and the construction school of the Swiss Federal Polytechnic School (among others with Alfred Friedrich Bluntschli ). From 1883 to 1884 he continued his education in Munich and Vienna . From 1884 to 1887 he worked at the St. Gallen Cantonal Building Office and traveled to Italy . From 1888 to 1893 he worked as an architect in Germany and joined the Federal Building Department in 1893 , was the architect's office manager from 1910, adjunct and deputy director from 1911 and director of the office from 1921 to 1924.
