Franz Schneller

Franz Schneller (born January 18, 1889 in Freiburg im Breisgau ; † November 23, 1968 there ) was a German dramaturge , director and writer .

Life

Franz Schneller developed literary inclinations under the influence of his cousin Emil Gött as a student at the Bertoldgymnasium and later at the Friedrich-Gymnasium Freiburg . After participating in the First World War , he was dramaturge and director at the Stadttheater Freiburg from 1919 to 1925 . In 1924 he became a co-founder of the regional cultural magazine Friborg Figaro . In 1933 Schneller was taken into protective custody . He did another military service as a station officer from 1939 to 1945 . After the war, Schneller was head of the Freiburg city library until his retirement in 1954. His literary work is mainly located in the Black Forest and High Rhine countryside. In 1955 he became a member of the PEN
