Franz Schultz (local history researcher)

Franz Schultz (born July 2, 1841 in Danzig - Old Scotland ; † around 1925) was a teacher , high school director, local researcher and genealogist in West Prussia .

Life

Schultz attended high school in Danzig and then studied classical philology at the University of Königsberg . After he had passed the Examen pro facultate docendi, he became a member of the educational seminar in Königsberg in 1862 and completed his probationary year at the Collegium Fridericianum as such . Then Schultz was employed as a full teacher at the grammar schools in Konitz and Neustadt in West Prussia . In autumn 1867 he was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD . In the summer semester of 1868 he was transferred to the grammar school in Kulm, where he held the fifth senior teaching position in 1872 and advanced to the first senior teaching position through all counting levels until 1878. On October 4, 1881, he was awarded the title of professor . From May 1882 to Easter 1883 he was the director of the Kulmer grammar school. Immediately thereafter, Schultz was given the management of the high school in Rössel . He retired on October 1, 1886 and from then on lived in Sopot , where he devoted himself to historical and archival studies.

Schultz was married to Anna Vitali and had a son with her, Dr. phil. Franz Schultz (1877–1950), full professor for modern German literary history at the University of Frankfurt .
