Franz Streng

Franz Streng (born February 1, 1947 in Scheinfeld ) is a German law scholar and university professor specializing in criminal law , juvenile criminal law and criminology at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg .

Live and act

Franz Streng was born in Scheinfeld / Middle Franconia. After studying law from 1967 to 1969 at the University of Würzburg , 1969 at the Free University of Berlin and 1969 to 1971 at the University of Heidelberg , he passed the first and second state examinations in Baden-Württemberg. Streng received his doctorate in 1974 at the University of Heidelberg under Heinz Leferenz (subject: The psychoanalytic theories of sexual crime ), the habilitation took place there in 1983 ( Hans-Jürgen Kerner ).

From 1975 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Criminology and from 1985 Professor for Criminology and Juvenile Criminal Law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg. In 1987 he accepted a position at the University of Konstanz . Franz Streng has been professor for criminal law and criminology at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg since 1991 .

Volunteering

Streng has been a liaison professor at the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung since 1989 and a member of the selection committee for student funding since 1994. Since 1991 he has been a member of the executive committee of the German Association for Juvenile Courts and Juvenile Court Assistance and as the first chairman of the DVJJ regional group in Northern Bavaria.

Franz Streng has been a member of the Advisory Board of the Criminological Service of the Bavarian Prison System since 2010.
