Franz Tobisch (politician)

Franz Tobisch (born February 25, 1868 in Lubenz , Bohemia as Franz Wilhelm Tobisch, † June 13, 1917 in Vienna ) was an Austrian- Bohemian politician and doctor. He was a member of the Bohemian Landtag and a member of the Austrian House of Representatives .

Life

Tobisch was born in 1868 as the son of the businessman Franz Tobisch and his wife Maria Anna née. Lifka was born. He attended elementary school in Lubenz and then switched to high school in Prague's old town. He graduated from WS 1889/1890 medicine at the University of Prague and received his doctorate on September 29, 1900. Dr. med. During his studies, Tobisch became a member of the Ghibellinia fraternity in 1886 (today the Ghibellinia fraternity in Prague in Saarbrücken ). He worked professionally as a district doctor in Rückersdorf and was a member of the German section of the Medical Association for Bohemia. He was politically active as a local councilor and was also deputy chairman of the Friedland district association of the Federation of Germans in Bohemia and the local group of the "Free German School". In the state elections in Bohemia in 1908, Tobisch stood in the constituency of Friedland-Katzau-Neustadt and was elected with a large majority of 79.9 percent. He was a member of the state parliament until the body was dissolved in 1913. In the Reichsrat election in 1911, Tobisch ran for the Reichsrat in the electoral district of Bohemia 101 , and was able to prevail in the runoff election against a candidate from the Social Democrats. In the Reichsrat Tobisch was initially elected to the legitimation committee, from which he resigned after a year. In addition, he was elected to the medical committee in autumn 1911.

Tobisch died of a stroke in Vienna in 1917. He was on the way to a café with MP August Einspinner when he suffered a stroke on the street. Einspinner was able to lead Tobisch to a nearby barber shop, where he soon died. In his obituary, Tobisch was primarily recognized for his work in social welfare.
