Franz Weber (State Secretary)
Franz Weber (born January 14, 1894 in Langenhorst , † May 1, 1955 in Bonn ) was a German lawyer and State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Post .
Life
After passing the school leaving examination on April 1, 1913, Franz Weber joined the post office in Bocholt as an apprentice in the senior postal service. He began studying political science and law at the Universities of Strasbourg , Münster and Berlin . He took part in the First World War as an officer in the intelligence service . It was 1920, the postal clerk exam, received his doctorate in 1921 for Doctor of Law at the University of Cologne and laid in 1923 the post Assessor examination. From 1929 to 1933 he was employed in the personnel department of the Reich Postal Ministry, where he was appointed postal councilor on December 1, 1930. Because of his political attitude, he was transferred to the Oberpostdirektion Berlin after 1933 . He was appointed Oberpostrat in 1937, and he took over the Berlin SW II post office , which under his leadership was expanded to become the most modern and largest office in Berlin. After he was appointed Oberpostdirektor in 1938, he was transferred back to the Reichspostdirektion Berlin (Oberpostdirektion Berlin) in 1940 as a department head (department president).
After the Second World War, in 1946 he became head of the West Railway Post Operations Management in Münster . In 1949 he was appointed President of the Bremen Post Office . Two years later, in 1951, he became a ministerial director in the Federal Post Office and was last employed as State Secretary from 1954.
