Franz and Joseph Rosen

Franz Rosen (* July 26, 1849 in Eschweiler , † February 26, 1912 ibid) and Joseph Rosen (* May 25, 1825 in Volkenrath , † May 25, 1884 in Eschweiler) were brothers who played a key role in the development of their hometown .

You were involved in urban development in the southern inner city between Inde / Eschweiler Burg and Röthgen . The brothers are buried in the crypt of the Besgen and Rosen families in the "Dürener Strasse" cemetery in the center of Eschweiler.

Heinrich Joseph Rosen

Joseph Rosen was a building contractor, promoter of Eschweiler urban development and owner of the Eschweiler gasworks. In 1882 he was a member of the district council and member of the Rhenish provincial parliament . In 1883 the "Rosenallee" was named after him on the basis of a city council resolution.

Franz Rosen

Like his brother, Franz Rosen came from the Volkenrath Hof and was a member of the district council. He has received several awards for his commitment. In 1905 the "Franzstraße" running parallel to Rosenstraße was named after him.
