Franz of Chemnitz

Franz von Chemnitz , also Fransiscus Chemnitius (born September 4, 1656 as Franz Chemnitz , † March 4, 1715 in Wismar ), was a judge at the Wismar Tribunal .

Life

The son of the physician Franciscus Chemnitz (1609–1656) and Clara Euphrosyne von Neumark was born after the death of his father. He was a trainee lawyer and chamber secretary with the government of Swedish Pomerania before receiving a traineeship at the Greifswald court . He later became associate and in 1694 full assessor at the court. In the same year he received the title of court judge . In 1697 he became an assessor at the Wismar Tribunal.

In 1694 he married Regina Zander, daughter of a doctor, in Stettin , who died 14 days after the wedding. His second marriage was in 1695 with Katharina Gertrud Klinckowström , daughter of the Stralsund city commander Johann Klinckowström. Her son Franz Johann von Chemnitz (* 1708) became a captain in the Polish service.
