Franz von Cramm

Franz von Cramm (born January 4, 1610 at Schloss Volkersheim near Wolfenbüttel , † October 19, 1661 probably in Plön ) was a German court official.

Life

Cramm was the son of Heinrich von Cramm and his wife Barbara von Altmannshofen. Apart from his conservative Protestant upbringing by private tutors, little is known of his childhood and youth.

At the court in Plön , Cramm served Duke Joachim Ernst of Schleswig-Holstein and Sonderburg-Plön as stable master for many years. As such, he was also married to Catharina von Bülow.

At the end of 1660, Prince Ludwig I of Anhalt-Köthen on his north German trip also took him to the court of Plön. There he accepted Cramm into the Fruitful Society together with Jürgen von Biswang and Adam von Lowtzow . The prince gave Cramm the company name of the Covered and the motto proves to be . Cramm Silgen ( Apium graveolens var. Dulce Mill. Pers. ) Was intended as an emblem. Cramm's entry can be found in the Koethen Society Register under no. 293. The rhyme law that he wrote on the occasion of his admission is also recorded there:

The stills hotter arth covered with earth, turns out to
be beautiful and well, and their effect stretches before

That food gets ripe and mörb; Covered with God's grace
Everyone wishes to be with him, so that nothing harms him, then he
