Franz von Mentzingen

Franz Freiherr von Mentzingen (born July 6, 1932 in Menzingen ) is a former German ambassador .

Life

Franz von Mentzingen is one of the lords of Mentzingen and grew up in Istanbul , until 1945 the family returned to Hugstetten . Von Mentzingen went to school in St. Blasien and studied law in Munich and Heidelberg. He married his wife Anna Brigitte Quincke (1933–2015) in 1956 in Heidelberg. In 1957 he joined the Foreign Service . Im from Mentzingen was State Department Lecturer Counselor and representatives of Renate Finke Osiander , Head of Unit in Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Albania . On March 7, 1976 he was a lecturer in the Legation Council at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Poland with Ambassador Hans Hellmuth Ruete .

For 39 years, von Menzingen was ambassador to Sudan, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Peru and Colombia. From 2001 to 2009 Franz von Mentzingen was the diocesan director of the Malteser Hilfsdienst in Freiburg and until 2009 deputy mayor of Hugstetten . There he is lord of the Hugstetter castle.
