Franziska Boehm

Franziska Böhm (born May 30, 1937 in Abertham , Czechoslovakia ) is a German dialect speaker and local poet who writes in the Ore Mountains dialect .

Life

Franziska Böhm has lived in Breitenbrunn in the Erzgebirge since May 1948 , where she worked as a teacher at the Goethe School from 1957 to 1992. Among other things, she is the leader of the accordion group "Zerrwanstle" and has made a name for herself as a dialect speaker and author. So far she has published six volumes of poetry in the Erzgebirge dialect and sang 32 of her songs on CD.

Franziska Böhm has participated in all of the Erzgebirge dialect days and in the dialect regulars table. At the Institute for Saxon Culture and Language she is listed with language examples as a representative of the Western Ore Mountains dialect. In the working group dialect authors of the Erzgebirgsverein she supports school projects to preserve and maintain dialect. In overview presentations on the maintenance of the Erzgebirge dialect since the beginning of the 20th century, Böhm's musical, literary and dramatic dialect work was highlighted, especially for the younger generation, and underlined by reprinting her poems.
